Reading (Mrs. Isaminger):
This week, the students will finish reading Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell.
The students will work on a culminating class project over the book. In addition, the students
will be learning how to participate in their first literature circle discussion.

The students will work on review activities connected to Lesson 8 of Wordly Wise. There will
be a Wordly Wise Lesson 8 test on Tuesday, February 18th.

writing a research paper.

Bible (Miss Reech)
MV: 1 Corinthians 3:16 - “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and
that God’s Spirit lives in you?” This week students will be learning about the Holy
Spirit and how Jesus gives Him to believers as a Helper. We will not have a Bible test
this week.

Spelling (Miss Reech)
10 words will be given Monday and Tuesday. Students received instructions on how
to complete homework for Monday and Tuesday located in their
Reech folder. 7 words will be used each night. On Wednesday we will take a
practice test. If students make a 100 A+, they do not have to take the test on
Thursday. Our test on all 21 words will be on Thursday.

Social Studies (Miss Reech)
We are concluding our unit on the history and geography of New England. This is
Chapter 3 in the blue textbook. Students will complete and correct their study guide
for chapter 3 this week. The chapter test will include a map portion of the Northeast
states. Students have a map with the specific states labeled and can practice the
location of the states at sheppardsoftware.com.  Our test will be after the winter break.

Science (Mrs. Jaques)
We will begin our unit on the scientific method and explore many sample projects.
We will be learning about each step in the Scientific Method and how to apply each step
to their own project.
